Alpha Kappa Alpha is a sisterhood composed of women who have consciously chosen this affiliation as a means of self-fulfillment through volunteer service. Alpha Kappa Alpha cultivates and encourages high scholastic and ethical standards; promotes unity and friendship among college women; alleviates problems concerning girls and women; maintains a progressive interest in college life; and serves all mankind through a nucleus of nearly 300,000 women in the United States, the Caribbean, Europe, and Africa. 

 

Chapter Meeting Information 

Active members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority in the area looking for a chapter home - we invite you to attend a meeting! Chapter meetings are held on the 2nd Saturday of the month except during the summer months of July and August. Proof of membership is required and must be verified prior to entering the meeting. The monthly business meeting starts promptly at 10:00 a.m., and business attire is required. Meeting locations vary monthly. Prospective Graduate Membership 

The Sorority's official graduate membership intake process (MIP) is by invitation only through one of its local graduate chapters and may not be solicited.  Iota Beta Omega Chapter hosts public events, in which individuals who are interested may attend in order to get acquainted with Sorority members and our community service activities.  For further details on membership please visit our international website at www.aka1908.com
