Membership
Alpha Kappa Alpha is a sisterhood composed of women who have consciously chosen this affiliation as a means of self-fulfillment through volunteer service. Alpha Kappa Alpha cultivates and encourages high scholastic and ethical standards; promotes unity and friendship among college women; alleviates problems concerning girls and women; maintains a progressive interest in college life; and serves all mankind through a nucleus of more than 225,000 women in the United States, the Caribbean, Europe, and Africa.
Candidacy for membership into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority is open to women of high ethical and scholastic standards who are pursuing or have completed courses leading to a degree in an accredited college or university. Reactivate Membership with IBO
Fill out and return to the Iota Beta Omega Financial Secretary the GRADUATE REACTIVATION FORM. Pay the Corporate Office Improvement Project (COIP) Assessment Fee of $200.00 (if not already paid) plus $130.00 reinstatement fee, (includes EAF membership and the current Constitution and Bylaws and the Manual of Standard Procedure), and Iota Beta Omega Chapter dues. A money order or certified check is required. If you were active with a chapter from 2004 to present, also submit the form described below.
Transfer Membership to IBO
Have the President or Treasurer of your former chapter fill out and return to you a TRANSFER VERIFICATION FORM. Present your current financial card and submit the form along with required Per Capita and pro rata chapter dues amount to the Iota Beta Omega Financial Secretary. A money order or certified check is required.
