Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated (AKA) is an international service organization that was founded on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C. in 1908. It is the oldest Greek-lettered organization established by African American, college-educated women. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated is comprised of more than 325,000 initiated members world-wide.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated is led by 2022-2026 International President Danette Anthony Reed. Our membership includes distinguished women who have excellent academic records, proven leadership skills and a commitment to the global community through advocacy and service.
Iota Beta Omega Chapter has served the Colorado Springs, Colorado community since 1970. Our service programs include #CAP, MLK Day of Service, Seniors on Saturday, Scholarship Awards, Sole for Souls, Historically Black Colleges and Universities for Life (HBCUs), Developing Our Economic Legacy, the Fashion Show, and a host of other services which highlight our motto, “Service to All Mankind.”
